Niche Medical, a subsidiary of Nortek, Inc., was organized in 1995 to acquire the plume management business of Medical Development Systems (MDS).  Our patented Evacuation Containment System offered customers unique features including a self obvious user friendly design, low procedure cost and simplified filter disposal.

Since that time, Niche Medical has developed the SmartVac™ Smoke Evacuation System, a next generation smoke evacuator.  We also offer plume collection products including the VacuPen™ Plume Collector and Filters and Tubing  used with various competitive smoke evacuators.  Additional operating room products that reduce costs, facilitate collection, storage, filtering and disposal of hazardous gasses, liquids and solids are currently under development.
